Penalty inventado deu o empate aos encarnados

Um jogo em que duas equipas em crise (o Sporting ainda a viver os 1-12 da eliminatória com o Bayern, o Benfica a carpir a derrota frente ao Guimarães que praticamente o afastou da decisão do título) procuravam um lenitivo para uma época que não está a correr nada bem.

Por isso esperava-se um jogo vibrante (que foi) mas mais bem jogado. Em determinadas fases viu-se pouco futebol e muito raguebi com um árbitro permissivo e com pouca capacidade disciplinar a deixar os jogadores a entrarem em quesílias.

O Sporting entrou melhor, a jogar mais apoiado e o Benfgica a explorar o contra-ataque. SA primeira oportunidade logo aos 4′ foi do Benfica uma bola ganha no meio-campo defensivo e 4 para 2 com Suazo a ser derrubado por Polga, mas Aimar a dar a bola para Nuno Goimes que desperdiçou o golo frente a Tiago ao querer enganar em jeito o guarda-redes leonino, o que não conseguiu.

Quim, que ja falhara antes sem consequências, numa jogada dividida com Liedson teve medo e deixou a bola para o avançado brasileiro do Sporting atirar a bola para a baliza, mas David Luís a salvar o golo. Num livre de Reyes, Tiago desviou ligeiramente a bola que ainda bateu na barra e saíu para canto. O Sporting por João Moutinho que desde a intermediária foi avançando com a bola pelo centro sem oposição encarnada disparou um remnatre forte para defesa de Quim

Com pouco tempo jogado na segunda parte, numa jogada pela esquerda Vukcevic abriu para um cruzamento finalizado por Liedson a atirar a bola contra o poste mas com a bola a ressaltar para o outro lado da área e Pereirinha a marcar (com a bola ainda a tabelar na parte lateral do poste).

O Benfica procurou reagir e num lance de bola parada Miguel Vítor desviou de cabeça à barra. Suazo começou a aparecer finalmente no jogo e em duas jogadas praticamente consecutivas foi ceifado por Polga. Na primeira deu falta e cartão amarelo, na segunda Lucílio Baptista deixou passar. Depois deu-se o lance que marcou o jogo. Di Maria (que entrara a substituir Nuno Gomes) entra na área pela esquerda e pede mão de Pedro Silva que o árbitro concede, mas que efectivamente não existiu, porque a bola bateu no peito. Pedro Silva viu o segundo amarelo e consequente expulsão (chegando depois disso a empurrar Lucílio Batista). Paulo Bento faz sinais no banco de «roubo». Ainda com um quarto de hora por jogar o Benfica esteve mais ao ataque mas não aproveitou a superioridade numérica. Nos últimos minutos os treinadores fazem substituições para os penalties.

No desempate foi o Sporting o primeiro a marcar e esteve em vantagem por duas vezes mas não aproveitou, Quim defendeu três penalidades e deu a Taça da Liga ao Benfica.

Penalties: 1º. Romagnoli marcou e Pablo Aimar falha – defesa de Tiago;
2º. Rochemback falha , defendeu Quim; Cardozo marcou;
3º. João Moutinho marca, Katsouranis atira muito ao lado;
4º. Derlei e grande defesa de Quim com o braço esquerdo; David Luís marca
5º. Postiga (que entrara dois minutosa antes do fim para marcar o penalty substituindo Liedson) permite a terceira defesa de Quim; Carlos Martins marcou e a Taça da Liga foi para o Benfica que sucedeu ao Vitória de Setúbal vencedore da primeira edição.

A arbitragem foi péssima disciplinarmente (como Derlei acabou o jogo sem ver o amarelo?). O penalty não existiu e segundo Paulo Bento ao que parece Lucílio Basptista assumiu a decisão mesmo contra a opinião do juíz assistente.

A beautiful lady, Gwyneth Paltrow, emotionally accepted the Best Actress Oscar for her role in “Shakespeare in Love”. It was a beautiful night for the film with 13 nominations and seven wins including the win of Best Picture of the 1998 year; Best Supporting Actress (Dame Judi Dench); Best Writing/Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen (Marc Norman, Tom Stoppard); Best Art Direction-Set Decoration (Martin Childs, Jill Quertier); and Best Music/Original Musical or Comedy Score (Stephen Warbeck). This was the first time in nine years that the film that won Best Picture did not win for Best Director. Steven Spielberg was the winning director for “Saving Private Ryan” (which also won four more of the golden statuettes). It was a beautiful moment when the Best Supporting Actor Oscar was awarded to James Coburn (“Affliction”), his first Academy Award nomination in over 70 films. But the most beautiful moment/s of the long (Oscar’s longest to date) evening was when Sophia Loren said, “and the Oscar goes to Roberto!” (Best Actor: La Vita è bella – Roberto Benigni). In plain English, “Life is Beautiful”. Roberto Benigni was the first actor in a foreign language film to receive an Oscar. Benigni had received an Oscar earlier in the evening for Best Foreign Film (“Life is Beautiful”) when he pirouetted on top of seat backs, hopping and dancing to the stage. Roberto Benigni truly made the evening bella, bella!

Mar. 21: World Poetry Day – Dia Mundial da Poesia

World Poetry Day is commemorated on March 21. This day was declared by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999. The purpose of the day is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the UNESCO session declaring the day says, to “give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements.”

To mark this year’s World Poetry Day, UNESCO will pay tribute to Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973), who was also a Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature. Nothingandall associates to this homage and publishes more poems by this famous author.
