Benfica have beaten Heerenveen 4-2, this night at Estadio da Luz, with 2-0 at the end of the first half. Benfica took the expenses of the game since the starting and scored the first goal (14′) by Manuel dos Santos. Before, the Dutch team have made danger with a kick on the righ side of the but by Huntellar, and after the goal had new chance to score with a long shot which met the bar . At minute 31 Nuno Gomes scored a sumptuous goal after assistance of Zahovic. It was the 100th goal scored by Nuno Gomes in service of Benfica.

With 2-0 we saw a different Heerenveen at second half. The Portuguese team looked surprised and with goals scored by Yildirim (48′) from a freekick and Huntelaar (52′) this one from penalty kick, the game was level and open. During several minutes the Dutch team was at high level and they thought they could leave Portugal with a victory. Benfica recovered from some perturbation and Trapattoni put into the game (67′) Azar Karadas who five minutes after scored another excellent goal. Nuno Gomes (78′) scored his second goal and the fourth to Benfica in a counterattack. The match was solved. The players had good behavior and the Polish referee Jacek Granat had no problems. He showed yellow cards to Bruggink (42′) , João Pereira (68′), Haarala (72′) and Raddmski (74′).

It was an interesting match with fabulous goals.

The other match of this Group, Beveren was beaten in own home by Stuttgart for 1-5.

The favorites Benfica and Stuttgart have made their jobs and i think the third qualified will be decided from Heerenveen or Dynamo Zagreb.

After the last match against FC Porto ( 0-1) Benfica is preparing the first match of Uefa’s groups stage against the Dutch team SC Heereveen. The echoes of the “big stole” by the referee last match against Porto haven’t finished yet and the Dutch coach Gert-Jan Verbeek recovered the discussion saying that Benfica have been stolen, against FC Porto, because they had scored a real goal.

The moral of the Portuguese team fans isn’t so high now, but they expect Benfica are able to win the match, in Lisbon (Estadio da Luz) , in spite of the “good mood” of SC Heereveen that has beaten Ajax in his own home by 1-3 last week-end. Before the Dutch club beat Israeli side Maccabi Petach-Tikva FC 5-0, with five different scorers, in a one-off first round match to reach the group stage. Benfica overcame Slovak club FK Dukla Banská Bystrica 5-0 on aggregate in the UEFA Cup first round after have been eliminated by RSC Anderlecht in this season’s UEFA Champions League third qualifying round stage.

The other clubs of this group are : Stuttgart, Beveren and Dynamo Zagreb

The match is scheduled for tomorrow at 21:15 Lisbon local time.
