Portugal marcou quatro golos mas só valeram três

Com Cristiano Ronaldo em grande, Portugal venceu, com naturalidade, o Azerbaijão por 3-0, tendo ainda criado mais algumas oportunidades (e marcado mais um golo um minuto após o primeiro e tambem por Cristiano Ronaldo) que podiam ter dado uma maior expressão ao marcador.

Portugal não precisou de fazer uma grande exibição para vencer com naturalidade e aos 30 minutos ja a bola havia entrado na baliza de Veliyev por três vezes mas o resultado era só de 2-0 por uma incrivel desatenção da equipa de arbitragem. Dos golos que valeram o primeiro surgiu de uma assistencia de Deco do centro para a esquerda para Ronaldo facturar pelo meio das pernas do guarda-redes e o segundo num livre de Ronaldo que Ricardo Carvalho recarregou após a primitiva defesa do guarda-redes para a frente.

No inicio da segunda parte Portugal entrou mal mas a equipa visitante tambem passou a conceder mais espaço nas costas da defesa e num lance pela direita Simao centrou para o terceiro golo do jogo aos 62′ de cabeça por Cristiano Ronaldo.

Nesta altura o seleccionador ja estava mais preocupado com o jogo da Polonia e tirou o «menino bonito» para enter Nani aos 73′. Ja antes entrara Tiago para o lugar de Maniche e ai ontervalo o amarelado Nuno Valente dera lugar a Caneira.

O Azerbaijão que contou com três brasileiros naturalizados esteve perto do final de marcar um golo, primeiro num livre a rasar o poste e depois numa fugida pela meia direita com o remate a ser defendido por Ricardo para canto.

Poirtugal faz na proxima 4ª. feira o terceiro jogo desta qualificação ao jogar na Polonia.
