`Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding’. Kahlil Gibran
I remember an interview of New York Art Critic Robert Hughes.
He was talking about the pain he has experienced since his car accident and how it had expanded his consciousness to be aware of dimensions he previously did not understand.
Without the shadows the light in our life lacks definition.
Noone has a life that is immune from painful moments but as our palette becomes filled with a wider range of experiences and colors we are able to create with that full rainbow of color that makes up light.
The connection with the power and strength that makes up `The Spirit’ is heightened with each obstacle we overcome.
Some of the most beautiful works of art are outpourings by individuals in the midst of pain on all levels.
These outpourings keeps the way clear and allows light again to flow from this place.
I painted one work with a heart full of tears.
It was a work that felt like `pulling out a tooth’ but it’s completion was part of letting in the powerful light that we can all access.
