Fernando Santos sai Camacho entra : Será que ainda se vai a tempo?

Num post aqui colocado em 20 de Maio de 2006 escrevia «Não é o que eu esperava! Não é o que eu gostava. Mas já está! Fernando Santos dentro de minutos vai ser apresentado como o novo treinador do Benfica. No curriculum traz o epíteto de “Engenheiro do penta” – só isso é motivo para não ficar satisfeito porque tem a ver com o rival FC Porto – e nos ultimos anos treinou na Grécia onde acaba de deixar o AEK no 2 º. lugar e na Liga dos Campeões. Preferia Eriksson, preferia Queiroz … mas vá lá é português e tem o nome de Fernando como eu… Agora é esperar que faça um bom trabalho e eu possa mais tarde dizer … ainda bem que estava enganado».

Não foi preciso muito tempo para confirmar que infelizmente estava certo.

No sábado passado na crónica do Leixões-Benfica escrevia «Este Benfica (e já não é novidade face aos jogos da pré-época e o que se viu com o Copenhaga) é uma equipa fraca. Ainda agora o campeonato começou e o descontentamento dos adeptos é bem visível; a capacidade psicológica dos jogadores (patentes designadamente nas declarações de Nuno Gomes) é de intranquilidade. O discurso do treinador é pouco mais de zero … ele diz verdades é certo, mas nada tem de motivador».

Pelo meio muita insatisfação especialmente quando na época passada se desperdiçou a passagem às meias-finais da Taça Uefa e podendo entrar na luta pelo título se ganhasse em casa ao Porto, a equipa apresentou-se no jogo deixando a iniciativa ao adversário. Aliás não se percebe que no final da época passada não se tenha mudado de treinador… Muda-se agora, vai-se a tempo de salvar a época? Este Benfica tarda em tomar as decisões correctas… ou quando são correctas não são no timing certo.

Por tudo isto o que espanta é que se tenha demorado tanto a constatar que o treinador não era bom. Mas se o Benfica quer fazer alguma coisa, não basta mudar o treinador…. Pelo menos uma condição necessária é preciso: tem de acabar a desorganização!

Camacho volta ao clube. Mas será suficiente? Ainda vai a tempo?
