Comentários:
Em Paços de Ferreira quase assistiamos a um volte-face na decisão do campeonato com os pacenses a vencerem o Porto até ao minuto 76′. O golo de tabela de Adriano a dar o empate (e o campeonato!) aos portistas faz da última jornada uma mera formalidade para os dragões carimbarem o título frente ao Desportivo das Aves derrotado em casa frente ao Estrela da Amadora.

Sporting (outra vez a ganhar desde os primeiros minutos) e Benfica (em fim de estação) venceram os adversários, mas enquanto a Académica tem a manutenção já decidida o Vitória de Setúbal mantém-se em último. Na última jornada o Aves vai ao Dragão e por isso o Setúbal que vai à Figueira da Foz com a Naval e o Beira-Mar que joga em casa frente ao Paços de Ferreira vão decidir a permanencia. Aos aveirenses um empate chega se o Setúbal não ganhar à Naval.

Em Coimbra os sportinguistas ainda sonharam com o título durante bastante tempo mas o empate do Porto em Paços de Ferreira deve estar a dar muitas dores de cabeça principalmente a Paulo Bento que contente com o segundo lugar, e a presença certa na Liga dos Campeões, não arriscou no jogo da Luz o suficiente para «querer? ser campeão. Ai se o tinha feito!

Na luta pelo 4º. lugar o Braga parece ter mais hipóteses porque termina em casa frente ao Nacional enquanto o Beleenenses vai a Alvalade. Outra decisão deixada para o fim é a definição do último lugar em aberto para a Taça Uefa. A União de Leiria ao empatr 2-2 em casa frente à Naval não aproveitou o facto de o Paços de Ferreira defrontar o Porto. Empatando ambos mantém-se a vantagem do Paços de Ferreira que vai a Aveiro enquanto a União de Leiria vai ao Estrela da Amadora vencedor em casa do Aves o que lhe permitiu saltar para o 9º. lugar.

Uma referência final para assinalar a subida de divisão de Leixões e Vitória de Guimarães, este último em recuperação excepcional ultrapassou o Rio Ave que contabilzou quatro derrotas nos últimos quatro jogos disputados.
