Comentários: Apresentados os resultados da Jornada 2 da fase de Grupos da Taça Uefa não podemos deixar de destacar os seguintes aspectos:

1 – A derrota copiosa do Halmstad que eliminou o Sporting em Alvalade. Já à distancia, continuamos sem perceber como foi possível a eliminação do Sporting tal a diferença enorme de capacidades e de categoria entre as equipas e nem a aleatoriedade de um jogo de futebol pode justificar.
2 – Uma acentuada tendencia favorável para as equipas que jogaram em casa. Nos 16 jogos houve apenas duas vitórias forasteiras e três empates, ou seja 11 triunfos dos locais.
3 – Numa das derrotas caseiras teve intervenção pela negativa o nosso conhecido Trapattoni que, embora mais perto de casa, deve estar com saudades de Lisboa. O Estugarda está mal e nem com Tomasson “roubado” ao Benfica vai lá das pernas. Não nos admiramos muito que Trapattoni esteja de saída.
4- No grupo do Vitória de Guimarães que descansou (Grupo H) ao fim de duas jornadas o Bolton comanda com um empate fora e uma vitória em casa, enquanto o Besiktas aparece em dificuldades com o empate em casa e a derrota fora. Já o Zenit que derrotou o Guimarães em casa perdeu agora. Resta ao Guimarães ganhar o próximo jogo em casa – o Bolton no dia 26 de Nov – para estar metido na corrida pelo apuramento. Mas vai ser muito difícil consegui-lo.
