Estamos pagos… Com Deco tudo foi diferente.
Portugal esta noite no estádio do Dragão fechou a fase de qualificação com uma exibição bem conseguida e um resultado desnivelado ultrapassando da melhor maneira as críticas sobre a exibição desconexa e descolorida frente ao Liechtenstein.

Scolari também mexeu na equipa fazendo seis alterações no onze titular (meia-equipa, como se vê). Mas com mais ou menos alterações adivinhava-se que a atitude da equipa iria ser diferente e que as “pazes” com os adeptos ( e principalmente com os jornalistas e críticos) iria ser conseguida. A selecção da Letónia melhor do que a do Liechtenstein (que ninguém duvide) também ajudaria.

E foi o que aconteceu. Portugal aliou uma boa exibição a um bom resultado e na parte final Nuno Gomes ainda poderia ter adiantado o marcador com mais um golo. A festa foi conseguida também para Pauleta que marcou dois golos (os dois primeiros do jogo) em pequeno espaço de tempo, passando o record de Eusébio como sendo o jogador português que mais golos marcou pela selecção nacional de futebol.

Deco, o melhor jogador em campo, foi o coordenador que no último jogo não tivemos e a equipa melhorou. Uma outra referencia individual para Quim que esteve muito bem e fez duas grandes defesas em períodos em que o resultado ainda estava indefinido. Ainda registo para o grande golo de Hugo Viana, de pé esquerdo, após Deco ter marcado o canto.

No final todos sairam satisfeitos e digam o que disserem Portugal tem equipa para fazer melhor melhor, muito melhor do que no Mundial dos Estados Unidos. Afinal temos jogadores (quase todos) que jogam em clubes do Top mundial. Porque é que a selecção não pode ser do Top?

Scolari põe a fasquia nos 8 melhores. É razoável. O treinador de Espanha põe a fasquia nos 4 melhores – e a verdade é que nem sequer ainda carimbou o passaporte.
