6ª. Jornada : Benfica sofre … mas ganha! Outubro 3, 2005

Benfica 2 – 1 V. Guimarães

Jogo grande na Luz entre duas equipas mal classificadas. No entanto, o Guimarães vinha de uma vitória na Uefa enquanto o Benfica viu os seus adversários principais empatar na Madeira ( o Porto) e perder em Paços de Ferreira (o Sporting).

O Benfica repete o onze de Manchester enquanto o Vitória tem de introduzir várias alterações por indisponibilidade de jogadores. Muita pressão no meio campo por parte dos vitorianos, pouco espaço para se jogar e só aos 14′ o Benfica consegue criar perigo quando uma investida de Nelson pela direita termina com um remate (de pouco angulo) para Paiva defender e na recarga Nelson pretende assistir Nuno Gomes mas um defesa vitoriano antecipou-se. Aos 19′ um livre de Petit com bola metida por alto para a área Nuno Gomes falha o cabeceamento mas assiste (involuntariamente) Miccoli que não perdoou. Estava inaugurado o marcador.

O Vitória, no entanto, controla o meio-campo e as oportunidades sucedem-se junto a Moreira. Aos 21′ Moreira defende um remate espectacular de Targino a centro de Neca e logo a seguir este faz a bola rasar o poste de Moreira. Aos 29′ uma série de ressaltos ganhos pelos vitorianos esempre mais activos e pressionantes e o golo de novo à vista. É patente a insuficiencia do Benfica em parar o meio-campo vitoriano e o golo adivinhava-se a cada instante. Aos 30′ remate de Benachour à barra. Finalmente o empate, mais um cruzamento da direita e Targino no centro da pequena área a cabecear à vontade vitoriosamente (33′).

Ricardo Rocha sai lesionado e é substituido por Anderson, aos 38′. Fase de muitas faltas com alguma complacencia do árbitro quer mostra o 1º. amarelo a Neca (41′) por falta sobre Petit.

Face às oportunidades o 1-1 ao intervalo era injusto para o Guimarães.

Na segunda parte os visitantes baixam de rendimento. Já empatados ainda que sem renunciar ao ataque jogam de modo mais conservador. Aos 52′ um cruzamento da esquerda permite a Simão isolar-se em, plena área mas incompreensivelmente tenta um chapéu que saiu alto por cima da barra. Jaime Pacheco faz entrar Pintassilgo para o lugar do amarelado Neca aos 60′ . Aos 66′ entra Karagounis para o lugar de Geovanni (que esteve mais uma vez ausente do jogo) e saiu Targino para o lugar de Dario.

As substituições não resultaram no Vitória; Neca e Targino tinham tido grandes exibições e Benachour também baixou de rendimento. O Benfica sem jogar bem postava-se ao ataque e agora não sofria os calafrios defensivos da 1ª. parte. Aos 68′ Simão no lado esquerdo contorna Pintassilgo, passa ainda por outro defesa tenta o remate e a bola ressalta em Moreno e trai Paiva que já no chão vê a bola entrar junto ao seu poste direito.

Aos 75′ nova jogada de Simão permite a finalização de Nuno Gomes à boca da baliza mas Paiva defendeu com os pés.

Jaime Pacheco ainda fez entrar Paulo Sérgio mas a capacidade de reacção do Vitória já não foi tão forte. Mantorras que entrou para o lugar de Miccoli ainda dispôs de uma oportunidade mas rematou ao lado.

Vitória feliz do Benfica numa exibição muito pouco consistente enquanto o Vitória de Guimarães dominou grande parte do 1º tempo mas na segunda parte conformou-se cedo com o empate.

A arbitragem não agradou a gregos nem a troianos. Adiou os amarelos até à parte final do jogo (excepção do amarelo a Neca) e perdoou acções disciplinares (que podiam ser vermelhos) a Petit e a Medeiros.

Acção Disciplinar: Cartão Amarelo para Neca (41′), por falta sobre Petit; aos 85′ para Svard por palavras; 87′ Cartão Amarelo para Mário Sérgio por jogar a bola com a mão e aos 91′ para Dragóner, por falta sobre Mantorras.
