Portugal bate a Itália e obtém o 3º. lugar

Portugal, que era o Campeão do Mundo, conseguiu minimizar os estragos da derrota frente a Espanha e na discussão do 3º lugar derrotou a Itália por 4-3. Estando a perder por 0-1 e 1-2 Portugal, que contou com o apoio de muitos portugueses nas bancadas, conseguiu finalmente passar para a frente no marcador 3-2 sofreu ainda a igualdade mas Reinaldo Ventura (que aliás foi o “homem do jogo” ao marcar 3 golos) obteve o golo do triunfo.

A Espanha é a nova Campeã do Mundo ao derrotar na final a Argentina por 2-1.

Entretanto a Suiça classificou-se em 5º. lugar, sendo que nas descidas a Macau e Moçambique juntou-se a Holanda que foi batida pela Inglaterra por 3-0.
