Enquanto se detém o vosso olhar
à tona dos aspectos, impotente,
no âmago de tudo, claramente,
eu descubro um espirito a cismar.

Deleita-se a minha alma a respirar
os afectos das coisas: a dolente
nostalgia dum cerro olhando o mar,
a oração das paisagens ao morrente

Sim, eu respiro como essência estranha
a orfandade que exala uma montanha
quando o outono a junca de destroços.

E esses casais, dispersos pelo monte,
sinto-os pensar, cravando no horizonte
os seus olhos humanos como os nossos.

Google has a unique way to celebrate something and today the company decided to pay a tribute to Igor Stravinsky with a special and interesting logo. This is because Igor_Fyodorovich Stravinsky [Игорь Фёдорович Стравинский], born on 17 June [O.S. 5 June] 1882 (d. 6 April 1971). He was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor, considered by many to be one of the most important and influential composers of 20th century music.

The World Day to Combat Desertification is observed every year on 17 June. It marks the anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and is part of an international campaign by the United Nations to tackle global environmental deterioration, in particular the degradation of drylands. This year’s theme is “Conserving land and water = Securing our common future”.

The World Day to Combat Desertification has been observed since 1995 (General Assembly Resolution A/RES/49/1995) to promote public awareness relating to international cooperation to combat desertification and the effects of drought, and the implementation of the UNCCD.
